First of all, a size chart of the various species and races and individuals in my fantasy world, the Forbidden Ones. This list is by no means conclusive either quantity wise or in exact shape and role, but provides a rough guideline.

And the main attraction is a group of large herbivores in the setting that were directly inspired by a brainstorm idea from a younger user of the speculative evolution forum; what if a titanosaur centaur existed, particularly one of a giant like Patagotitan, Alamosaurus or Argentinosaurus? This got me brainstorming and started The inspiration for my developing story, of which i am only in the early chapters of development. This beast before you is the Colossataur!

This is course is an approximate indicator of how these beasts are supposed to look!
Description is as follows (may be updates):
One of the most iconic races in my upcoming fantasy story; 'The Forbidden Ones, Colossataurs, also known as Täug in the Empire of the Silver Sun, come from the open-forests and plains of central Porpuda, the great continent in the east of the planet Hyr (a world similar in size and gravity to Venus), and much to the north of the Silver Sun Empire, the dominant power in southern Porpuda. The landscape in this part of the great continent there is a mix of sparse but tall trees with plains of grass, somewhat similar to the environment of Cretaceous Patagonia and the Morrison formation, combined with the Serengeti of Africa. They live alongside a number of smaller taurs, scythebeasts and other many-legged beasts, as well as more familiar creatures like birds and griffs, and the humanoid thul. The colossataurs' origins as a race, as with other many-legs, are unknown, but are no doubt related to those of the centaurs, which almost certainly occurred in Porpuda according to every known religion.

Whereas centaurs have a form that resembles that of a three-toed horse split with a man, bar the long, thin tail, colossataurs do not bear a significant resemblence to any known creature in the Isle's history or mythology, nor are any resembling beings found in the mythologies of the East, with the exception of the Mayukal god of earthquakes, Ikrotyl. Looking at this race that straddles the line between beast and sapient, it is no wonder this term applies. They possess an immense muscular tail like a lizard's and pillar-like legs not too different from those of the tuskers [Stegotetrabelodon like animals]  native to the isles, though the feet are of a queer shape, with the front having no toes and the back having large claws. The back of the upper torso is not upright like a centaur's or a man's, but haunched over at an angle naturally. It is possible for them to rear up vertically like a man’s, though they can only hold this for a very short period of time, when scouting for danger, or intimidating a rival. The torso, although much hollower and thus lighter proportionally than that of a man or ape, containing mainly the lungs and gullet, is thick set and packed with muscle, particularly in the long arms, which are like tree trunks, aimed at pulling down and tearing apart large branches or even entire trees, as well as swinging great axes to cut down even larger trees. The abdomen where the two halves of the body meet is very muscular, but having few and small osteoderms, and the skin only being half as thick on that of the sides [still two to three times as thick as that of an elephant] is one of the most vulnerable regions in the animal to attack as well. At least from projectiles. The skin of the animal is thick, ranging in adults from ten to sixteen centimetres or four to six inches in thickness on the back and legs, and has small bony pellets embedded throughout, acting like chainmail. Some bony parts are larger, acting as defence in younger beasts and display in adult males.

The face is a curious shape indeed. Resembling an ape of some sort, it has wrinkled lips and neck like a tortoise, but otherwise the skin is tight and hard, a bit like a crocodile’s, but with tiny bone pellets embedded throughout. While ape-like in overall shape, the eyes, ears, mouth and nose are more reptilian, and in the mouth’s case, much larger in both width and length, with little in the way of cheeks. The eyes are closer together than those of a horse, but further than those of a man or ape, and tend to be bright colours such as gold, green, blue, red or even magenta. The teeth, bar the canines, are peg like for stripping leaves, with thicker teeth near the back to chew branches and entire trunks when necessary. They swallow large mouthfuls of food in a single go to sustain their huge appetites. A young adult can eat nearly a tonne of food every day, and the oldest adults up to 2 tonnes daily.

Colossataurs start life as hatchlings no larger than a cat, in groups of a few dozen, in nests found in concealed locations such as the Myun forests to the south, where the dense foliage keeps them safer from the many predators that dwell here. Autonomous from an early age, they form social groups with other hatchlings after a time of solitary cooperation, thus developing their first social skills, starting with grooming each other and teaching others where to find better shoots. At this point in their life, they are more omnivorous than their adult peers. They grow very rapidly, reaching as big as a cow within just a year of hatching. It is around this age their intelligence develops for them to start to use sticks for more than just grooming or feeding purposes, but as tools to crack open tough nuts or to scare away predators, though the osteoderms in their skin offer another form of protection. Colossataurs of this age also start to use stone tools to get into even tougher areas or hunt for fish. The protein they receive in this early part of their life helps increase their cognitive ability, creating improved social skills in their herds, with some of the first attachments being made.

Once they reach a couple of years of age, their growth starts to rapidly increase as does their aggression. Already as large as a dwarf tusker of Hydric (OOC: a fantasy equivalent to Stegotetrabelodon, with the Hydric dwarf beings similar in size to a hippopotamus of Earth), competition for resources begins and so they fight over these positions with either melee based attacks or the use of their tails as weapons against each other. The packs they made up in youth start to break up and they go through a solitary phase, where they must live autonomously and gain the skills necessary to survive predators. Just one in ten colossataurs manages to reach this phase due to predation, and even fewer survive it. Away from their old siblings, they develop more cognitive problem solving skills, and as they are too slow to pursue most animal prey, bar sloths and sleeping monkeys, they turn to using javelins to get the protein they need, along with nuts. As they are starting to use more wooden tools, they also start to draw attention from centaur and human hunters, who may capture them for use as slaves. At this age, it is easy to train the particularly aggressive individuals into war-beasts later in life, and indeed the Silver Sun and Svotz both train slave-colossataurs as part of their armies, albeit in limited numbers due to resources. It is at the this time their their growth rate are reaches its highest, as their lack of cooperation allows them to rapidly accumulate food and resources for themselves, as the hardier individual said survive predation from the various creatures here.

At around the age of seven, already well surpassing the largest animal in the Isles, the tusker, in bulk, they leave the thick forests of Myun and venture into the plains, as the thick lower foliage can no longer sustain them indefinitely, needing to browse from higher trees, using their arms to pull them down. Not needing to eat meat, they now transition almost entirely into herbivory, though not without scavenging or even fishing here and there. More intuitive individuals take sharpened rocks, attaching them to small wooden stumps with chewed fibers and create primitive axes to cut down trees to gain access to branches that even adults can’t reach in their own. It is during this time that they once more gather together for survival to find adequate food and shelter, regaining the social element of their species, and often going with larger and older individuals, who take a more dominant position in the social hierarchy. While not yet sexually mature, they start to become more sexually dimorphic at this age and onward, with males growing larger, spiked osteoderms at the base of the tail, as well as a brighter colour on their bodies, a deep red rather than the dulled green of females and juveniles. They remain similar in size, however. It is not too uncommon for individuals to one end up in the same herd or tribe as their parents, siblings or even grandparents, often recognizing relations through unique scents and osteoderm patterns.

They first become capable of sexual reproduction at the age of twenty, by which point they have grown to an enormous size, measuring over twenty-one metres (70 feet) in length, about five and a quarter metres (17.2 feet) at the withers, more than seven metres (about 24 feet) overall, and weighing as much as three bull tuskers (OOC: 33-36 tonnes for reference). After this, their growth becomes much slower and more gradual, and the males, now with brightly coloured cheeks and large tail spikes, fight one another for mates, often violently and with great guttural calls they can be heard from many miles away. The only predators capable of threatening them at this point are the dreaded hellmouths, the largest of the predatory scythebeasts of the east, and for the oldest individuals, even these are no longer a threat.  Conflicts with other tribes tend to be fought first by the young and virile males and older females, while younger females and battle-hardened males are the ones who stay to protect the younger members of the tribe. The tribe’s patriarch or matriarch, usually the oldest and largest group member, will be among this last line in the case of conflicts, defending its younger kin.

Although growth slows upon reaching sexual maturity, it never truly stops, and so these creatures can grow for many years. While it is rare, some individuals can live to more than one hundred years of age, being much bigger than young adults, measuring up to thirty metres (100 feet) in length, up to eleven metres tall (36 feet) in their normal posture, seven and a half (24.5 feet) at the withers, and weighing almost a hundred tonnes. These are the very oldest and hardiest individuals, and so are exceptionally prized, even more so than others of their kind.

Due to not quite being intelligent enough to be classified as a sapient species according to scholars, they are permitted for enslavement by the cultures of the east, though this is an exceptionally difficult task for older individuals. Part of the manhood ceremony of a Vongchoo prince is to go out and hunt a colossataur with just two guards for assistance, and come back with a thumb spike as a trophy of his kill. More often though, the territory of these mighty beasts is raided for slaves, leading to a difficult process where’s adults and adolescents are forced to carry great weights or fight in the imperial arena for the entertainment of the masses. A few even drive the Emperor’s massive ceremonial chariot. Younger individuals, while less impressive and more of a long time investment, are much easier to train properly, particularly in the art of war, and as they mature, they serve as mighty soldiers complete with armour, archer towers and mighty weapons and slings with rocks or balls of iron or steel, making them walking siege engines.

The armour given to the beasts tends to resemble that of tuskers [or real war elephants] but on a larger scale, with protective segments over the vulnerable abdomen and neck. The tail has segmented plates added on to it, with long blades on each side to swing as massive clubs or swords through the enemy when trained to do so. Their sheer size means that archer towers can reach considerable sizes on their backs, thus enabling up to eight centaurs or twenty humans to ride at once, with larger individuals even having a small scorpion on the back to fire at further away targets. Perhaps even more frightening than their slings and bladed tails are the great hand-held weapons granted to them by their masters. Such weapons often include clubs, maces and one handed axes, though sometimes more exotic weapons such as tridents, halberds or even specialised scythes can be used too. In control, they usually have great reigns digging into their gums, cruelly directing their path and giving them orders to kill their enemies. In the Silver Sun, they are some of the most fearsome opponents to face in armies. And that is in the east, where they at least share a common landmass. They have never been utilised in the Isles, though. At least so far...

Shown are Orek Steele, a larger than average mercenary of 190cm (6”3’) height, a hatchling straight out of the egg, a recently mature male and female, and an exceptional centenarian patriarch, named Grull.

Ursus Maritimus Cerulean.

Height: 7 ft tall on all fours, 18 ft tall on two legs

Length: 14 ft long

Weight: 3500 pounds at maximum weight

The mad scientist transformer (Ratchet/MS) sent his drones to planet Paradise to collect blue blood from the cyan apatosaurus from planet Diamond before its destruction and collected the blood of the blue diamond hybrid bears on planet Paradise. These blue hybrid bears are the offspring of the blue ice bears and blue diamond grizzly bears back on planet Diamond before its destruction. Blue Burning Fire had transported by blue diamond hybrid bears to planet Paradise. MS injected the blue blood into fourteen large male polar bears before pitting them in a battle royale involving elephants, rhinos, mammoths, and hippos as well as large bovines. Lions, tigers, and smildons were also included. This was the first battle royale ever done. The large male polar bears were injected with blue blood from the blue diamond hybrid bears. The male polar bears became huge blue polar bears. These huge male blue polar bears killed all the elephants, rhinos, mammoths, hippos, large bovines (gaurs, bisons, cape buffalos, spanish bulls, etc), smilodons, tigers, lions, and all other big cats easily. The huge male blue ice bears even killed the largest elephants and mammoths with easy. The strength of these blue polar bears far exceeds the incredible hulk but is still far inferior to that of the blue ice bears and the other blue diamond bears. The blue polar bear is officially known as the most powerful land animal on earth. However, it was not use in the battle royale for a long time because all of them died after vomiting purple blood (this is because blue and red blood cannot mix). These blue polar bears only possess about 10% of the strength of the blue ice bear. The last blue polar bear was used in battle royale when a huge one tonne male polar bear was injected with blue blood from a cyan apatosaurus (originally from the destroyed planet Diamond now on planet Paradise). This blue polar bear knocked down all the elephants and mastadons in the battle royale, however, it died due to the blue and red blood turning into purple venom in its body. In the universe, blue blooded animals are extremely powerful and rare and their blood is not to be mix with red or green blooded animals etc. These blue polar bears exceed the strength of Pedro/Avenger and Artos H Verde and can even beat queen mother xenomorph easily.

The only other blue polar bears are Bjornson from Earth 6 who injected some blue chemicals which enabled him to transform into a bluish white polar bear. He also transform his son, daughter, and friends with their consent of course. While weaker than the blue polar bears on the original earth, Bjornson was able to give Avenger a tough fight and even kill a black rhino. However, knowing he could not beat Avenger, Bjornson injected himself with another type of serum turning him into a teal polar bear which can become red. Bjornson lost because his body was not enough to sustain his red form although he was able to knock Avenger around. The blue polar bears used by MS in EEA Park are still much stronger than Bjornson even in his teal and red polar bear form. Bjornson's clones could sustain their red form because they were given a special type of serum which made the clones stronger than the original Bjornsson. Yet the male blue polar bears from the original earth are still much stronger than these clones (even in their red polar bear form).

Status: Transported from planet Diamond to planet Paradise, raptured to Blue Diamond Kingdom.
Weight: 15400 pounds for a large male .
Size: Same size as an African elephant on earth.

Blue hybrid bear (the offspring of either the younger male blue ice bears and older female blue diamond grizzly bears or the older male blue diamond grizzly bears and the younger female blue ice bears). The blue hybrid bears lacks the strength of the male blue ice bears (strongest land animals) and the aggression of the male blue diamond grizzly bears but like these two possesses neon blue blood which contains powerful bright blue cells (phagocytes and lymphocytes) that doesn't allow neon blue blood to be mix with either red, green, and other types of blood in the universe without devastating consequences.

MS drones collected some blue blood while two male blue hybrid bears were fighting on planet Paradise for mating rights. The first attempt in inserting blue blood in a 2200 pound male polar bear resulted the creation of the most powerful land animal (which could only live for one day due to the effect of the bright blue lymphocytes turning the red blood to venom (purple blood) causing the neon blue polar bear to vomit purple blood 20 minutes later and turn back into its original polar bear form before dying. Artos H Verde found a way to neutralise the blue hybrid bear's bright blue cells after MS drones brought him some fur from the blue hybrid bears which were found on planet Paradise north pole. The second attempt successfully made Maritimus and his polar bears and kodiak bears turn into bluish white polar bears and neon blue kodiak bears. Both neon blue kodiak bears and bluish white polar bears possess strength which surpasses even the strongest pachyderms combined together and could break through the toughest metal. The neon blue kodiak bears and bluish white polar bears knock down Artos H Verde, Megatron, Populator, Leo, and Tigris before causing rampage on Cybertron. Only the combine efforts of drillers and drones on Cybertron could eventually end the rampage.
Artos H Verde collected the purple blood samples secretly and brought them to the original earth to make purple bears with human bodies. These purple bears lack the strength of all the neon blue diamond bears (the blue ice bear is much stronger than these purple bears) as well as the neon blue kodiak bears, bluish white polar bears, and the one and only neon blue polar bear with purple blood yet these purple bears are more powerful than Artos H Verde and Bjornsson's clones.
