The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..
― John Milton, Paradise Lost

"Life, uh, finds a way"
― Ian Malcolm (portrayed by Jeff Goldblum), Jurassic Park

The latter was part of my senior quote. I live by both.

Really?

So, how often have you used it here on Carnivora, then?

Or does it - in general - 'go without saying'? L.O.L...

On history, Winston Churchill said - "Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it." This one on a similar theme is also good:
"The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history."
-- Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

I want to express my opinion.

The first was imposed by demons (for slaves). The second is reality. We are not alone. Only slaves can be lonely. There is a world beyond antarctica. Earth is flat. Cosmonauts are liars. Americans on the moon is a lie. We are in prison, we need to be corrected, then we get out of the pit. All that surrounds us is false path.

some profound last words

Voltaire (when on his death bed and asked if he would denounce the devil) Wrote:This is no time to be making new enemies

Yuan Chonghuan (General sentenced to death by a thousand cuts after being framed for a crime) Wrote:A life's work is always in vain; half of my career seems to be in dreams. I do not worry about lacking brave warriors after my death, for my loyal spirit will continue to guard Liaodong!

Giles Corey (farmer acused of witchcraft subjected to pressing to force a confession out of him) Wrote:More weight

And one that’s just sad:
Leonardo da Vinci Wrote:I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have.

Just learned about this today. An unexpected quote with an unexpected source.

"Do you think... God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he's created, here on Earth?"
― Dr. Romero (Steve Buscemi), when contemplating creatures that he created but despise and tried to eat him, Spy Kids 2

I think this is related.

"Don’t talk to me of God. We killed God at Magdeburg."
― The Captain (Michael Caine), referring to the Sack of Magdeburg, The Last Valley
