the martens were bigger then that white cat, but the darker cat was bigger then them but that didnt stop them going after it.

2 martens 'having' to kill it? or did it just so happen that it was caught by 2.

What is 'clear' - its that the size & attitude of the aggressor - has a marked bearing on what goes down.

(& yeah, pretty much any domesticated  'pet' - is generally not - 'in the game' - against dedicated predators).

As for sexual dimorphism & behaviour - in Felids, see how a tomcat compares 1-on-2, with martens - in this clip.

That sentence should read " What is 'clear' is that the size & attitude of the aggressor has a marked bearing on what goes down. The following sentences do not need random - , use commas if necessary.

Those are beech martens and are in no comparison to ytm regarding aggression and prowess but he was referencing a joke I had made and your comment about domestic pets being in no contest with dedicated predators is only true if said predators have a size advantage ie the ytm and cat and cougars v dogs. I don’t know why people think wild trumps domestic all the time when terriers have been recorded killing similar sized carnivores and other wild animals same with some outdoor cats.
The night is dark and full of terrors
